Information
- Description
- In 2000, Nadine and Franck Renouard met the painter Pierre-Marie Brisson in Petite Camargue. Passionate about wine and contemporary art, they bought a few hectares of old vines.
An analysis of the soil showed that they were holding a jewel in the rough.
With the help of their oenologist partner, Stéphane Beuret, they transformed the few hectares of vines into an ambitious, avant-garde enterprise: Vignoble Scamandre. In 2003, a great wine was born of their persistence: its name: Scamandre.
Their constant quest for innovation and perfection is matched by a strong ecological conscience.
The estate has been a pilot for agroforestry since 2010, and over 2000 trees have already been planted to improve biodiversity.
The price of this commitment is a low yield of between 30 and 40 hl/ha. The grapes are picked exclusively by hand.
Scamandre wines have become one of the benchmarks for great Rhône Valley wines.
The Domaine produces 3 types of wine: the Scamandre, the Terrasses d’Hortense
and the Côme Autrefois wines.
