- Founded in 1990 by Jean-François and Cathy Izarn, the adventure of Borie la Vitarèle begins with 4.5 hectares, their small budget does not allow them to acquire more. The couple, nourished by the desire to stay in the country, slowly builds his wine-growing dream with the conviction that here the terroir has not said its last word.
In a valley surrounded by forests of holm oaks, meadows and scrubland, Borie la Vitarèle, today 18 hectares of vines in AOC Saint-Chinian conducted in organic and biodynamic (since 1998).
In the cool cellar, the alchemy of indigenous fermentations occurs through sweet and minimalist vinifications, considered slow infusions.
Since the accidental disappearance of Jean François in April 2014, Camille manage the estate, supported by a team of trusted. Since 2017, it is Camille who vinifies the wines of Borie la Vitarèle.
Leading producers of the Languedoc region, they continue to create unique and authentic terroir wines that reflect the music of a singular place, necessarily inimitable
