- Founded in 1816, MAS AMIEL boasts a historic heritage of a vineyard spread over 95 parcels, offering remarkable diversity in terroirs. Each parcel, with its unique characteristics, type of soil (shales, limestone, granite), exposition, age of vines (including >100 years old), contributes to a rich collection of sweet fortified and dry wines, distinguished by top tasters.
Certified organic in 2017 and biodynamic in 2020, MAS AMIEL is fully committed to environmentally friendly practices. Biodynamics, based on a profound understanding of the laws of nature ensures the health of the soil and plants, preserving the terroir potential of each wine.
MAS AMIEL's oxydative "vins doux naturels" undergo on-grain fortification in tanks and evolve in glass demijohns exposed to the open air, developing notes of rancio, cocoa, and candied fruits. Aging in immense vats reveals over time aromas of blond tobacco, nuts, and eucalyptus, harmonizing perfectly with the intensity of chocolate rich in cocoa. Our most precious heritage from past generations.
