Information
- Description
- The Château de la Selve was established in 2002 by Benoît Chazallon, freshly graduated from the Beaune viticulture school. He fulfilled his dream: creating this vineyard in the South of Ardèche, where he was convinced the terroir had great potential, with its scorching sun, cool nights, wild landscapes, and limestone soils filled with the aromas of garrigue, humus, and truffle! Together with his wife Florence, they practice organic and biodynamic farming, which protects the environment and allows the terroir to fully express itself. They are in constant pursuit, in the vineyard for ever-living soils and in the cellar for ever-purer wines.
Today, Château de la Selve includes:
- 9 cuvées in IGP Coteaux de l’Ardèche
- 3 ranges of wines: “Les Domaines,” “Les Terroirs,” and “Les Confidentielles”
- a team of 7 permanent staff supplemented by about ten seasonal workers from the winter solstice (late December) to the summer solstice (late June)
- a 44-hectare estate
- organic and biodynamic farming
