Information
- Description
- Château de Minière is located in the Bourgueil AOC in the Loire Valley vineyards, between Tours and Saumur, about 2h45 south of Paris. The château was acquired in 2010 by Kathleen Van den Berghe and Sigurd Mareels, a Belgian couple with a passion for wine. For several centuries, the wine estate has been managed by women, Kathleen continues the tradition. The property covers 29 hectares of vines, 100% Cabernet Franc, including 15 hectares of old vines with an average age of 55 years, and more than 3 hectares of hundred-yearold vines. They are spread over all the terroirs of the appellation: from the gravels near the Loire to the clay-limestone and clay-siliceous soils of the slopes overlooking the valley. The estate is managed in Organic Agriculture (Ecocert) since its takeover in 2010. This certification is part of the Château de Minière's commitment to being a haven of biodiversity. The estate is also in HVE 3 (High Environmental Value), Refuge LPO (League of Protection of Birds) and our park is the home of our bees.
