- Description
- Château Guiraud, a gem of the Sauternes and Barsac region, is an exceptional wine estate. It produces remarkable sweet wines that showcase the magic of noble rot, as well as outstanding dry whites that reflect the quality of its terroirs. The vineyard spans 128 hectares in a single block, including 95 hectares of vines, primarily on sandy gravel and clay gravel soils over a rich and diverse subsoil.In 1983, the estate adopted innovative ecological principles, affirming its pioneering vision of sustainability. This commitment was further strengthened in 2001 with the establishment of a conservatory for Sémillon and Sauvignon grape varieties, reinforcing Guiraud's dedication to preserving biodiversity.A decade later, the estate achieved organic farming certification, demonstrating its determination to go even further in respecting the environment.
The year 2022 marks a new chapter with the arrival of Matthieu Gufflet, who has a vision of a complete Terres de Natures wine tourism offer. The appointment of Sandrine Garbay as head of the estate, where she now creates elegant wines, the fruit of her know-how and her constant quest for excellence, enshrines the ambition of the new owner.
