Hall B1 - n°38
Information
- Description
- The Domaine de la Paleine extends at the foot of the Puy-Notre-Dame hill, where vines have been present since the Middle Ages. It has existed at least since the 18th century, and the current exploitation took shape starting in the 1960s.
The Domaine produces wines from the Saumur-Puy-Notre-Dame appellation, of which it is one of the main players, as well as from other Saumur appellations. With 38 hectares of vineyards mainly planted with Chenin and Cabernet Franc, the estate produces wines in all three colors and Fines Bulles and Crémant de Loire; including several single plot cuvées that highlight the exceptional terroirs and vines.
It all starts with the life of the soils and plants that have been organic (AB) since 2013, then biodynamic (Demeter), in the vineyards as in the cellar, since 2017. Human, sustainable viticulture and biodiversity, with few parcels of cereals and honey bee hives, are at the heart of our values.
Jean-Louis Bernet, by choice and passion, together with the historic team continues to enhance these terroirs.
