Information
- Description
- Château La Lagune produces a 3rd Grand Cru Classé of Bordeaux whose blend brings together the emblematic grape varieties of the Médoc - Cabernet-Sauvignon, Merlot, Petit Verdot - and offers, over the years, wines recognized for their balance, finesse and elegance. In the same spirit of excellence, the estate also produces a second wine, named ‘Moulin de La Lagune’, and, since 2004, a wine named ‘Mademoiselle L’ on a vineyard a little higher in the Medoc. Planted on one of the most perfect gravelly hilltops in the region, the vineyard of La Lagune covers 110 hectares, where Caroline Frey has been working for many years to implement a benevolent viticulture. A work of patience that sees the fruits of the efforts of its teams in 2016, with the Organic Agriculture certification.
Vintage after vintage, Caroline sows the seeds of biodynamic viticulture through her different domains: “Viticulture must be an accompaniment of nature and not a fight. To achieve this harmony, biodynamics is an obvious philosophy that allows us to better understand and therefore better care for the vine.”
In 2021, Château La Lagune receives the biodynamic certification under the Biodyvin label, becoming the 10th Bordeaux wine to bear this label. This is the result of fifteen years of efforts to implement a benevolent viticulture towards the vine, the land, the people and the biodiversity.
