- The « Domaine Céline METZ » is the new generation and the new dynamics of the former Domaine Hubert METZ (my dad’s name). After a change of professionnal career 10 years ago, with my companion, I took over the family winery in the heart of the Alsace region. I am the 11th generation in the family history, but the first woman in the line. We have the chance to make our wines in our old historical cellar from 1728.
In the vineyard, we work organically on 10 hectares on a granitic area, 2 of which are on the Grand Cru Winzenberg, what brings delicacy and minerality to our wines. We started with biodynamics last year to look for even more precision in our wines. The idea is to work as naturally as possible and get the best balance in our wines.
We produce nearly 20% of pinot noirs, dry white wines, especially on some vineyard selections, terroir wines on our Grand Cru Winzenberg, blends, co-fermentations, and also some very nice Cremant bubbles.
We distribute our wines essentially on professional markets in France and in some foreign countries (Japan, The Netherlands…).
