Christoph Bauer is the winemaker of the family winery Christoph Bauer. Our wines are known for their clear varietal and vintage character. Conscientious work in our vineyards is the foundation, where we have been using organic methods since 2015.
Our vineyards
Our grapevines grow in Weinviertel, a winemaking region north of Vienna.
Weinviertel is famous for the Austrian white variety Gruener Veltliner.
Our vineyards, situated in Jetzelsdorf near Haugsdorf, are also planted with red varieties. The small, deep valleys here create the perfect environment for full-bodied red wines. In total we cultivate a vineyard area of 20 hectares.
Our wines
The focus of our winery is Gruener Veltliner, the main variety in Austria: The wine has peppery, spicy notes, as well as fruity flavors.
We are also famous for - and proud of - our red wines: Zweigelt and Zweigelt Reserve, ripened in small oak barrels.
