Description
The story of Domaine d'Adrien began in 2016, when Adrien, a young Belgian originally from Liège, decided to settle in the Hautes Corbières between Narbonne and Perpignan in the south of France, after completing his studies at the Ciney agricultural school.
He began by setting up 15ha of vines, the grapes of which he brings to the local cooperative. In 2019, he acquires 2 parcels of old Grenache Noir to begin his own vinification. This is the “Coup d'envoi 2019” vintage. Following the first cuvée, he was inspired to create his own domaine and a range of Red, White and Rosé wines. To do this, he bought new plots of land for a total of 4ha vinified in a garage.
In 2020, Saskia, originally from Corrèze (France), came for the harvest, and falling in love with the region and the winemaker, decided to stay and join in the adventure with Adrien.
In 2021, they bought an estate with a winery and a further 7ha already certified organic. The estate currently comprises a total of 24ha.
In 2023, Adrien's estate grows and changes its name to Domaine Montluzia, meaning Mont Lumière in Occitan.
The vines are grazed by horses after the harvest, and green manure is sown to nourish the soil, limit erosion and promote biodiversity.
In 2024, the estate obtained the Demeter label for biodynamic agriculture.
The estate's grape varieties are Carignan, Grenache, Syrah, Muscat, Lledoner, Grenache Blanc and Gris, Rolle.
The parcels are divided up and bordered by natural hedges and garrigue on schist or clay-limestone terroirs.
At harvest time, the grapes are hand-picked and sorted into 13kg crates. They are then vinified and aged in stainless steel, concrete or wood vats.
Our wines reflect our terroir: powerful, aromatic and fruity.
