Information
- Description
- Our estate, Domaine de Piaugier, is nestled in the heart of the famous Dentelles de Montmirail mountain range, in the Vaucluse department, south of the Rhône valley. Children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren of winegrowers, we have been cultivating some 30 hectares of vines in the Sablet and Gigondas appellations for five generations.
The majority of our vines are Grenache, both black and white, along with complementary varieties such as Mourvèdre, Syrah, Counoise and Cinsault. We're also particularly proud of our work with whites, which account for nearly a quarter of our production. Our vineyards are made up of young and very old vines. We take particular care to replant them gradually and to encourage complatation whenever possible. Also very fragmented, our vines are spread over around sixty plots, with soil types varying from sand, clay, silt and limestone.
Rigor, respect and patience” are our main values, both in the vineyard and in the cellar. Our aim is to produce wines that endure, but above all reflect our terroirs and personalities.
