Tasting notes
When I was a child, my mother used to slice oranges in half, scoop out the flesh, juice it, and make an orange jelly inside the orange peels with the juice and with packets of orange-flavoured gelatine. She’d then slice them into segments. Proper 1970s cuisine (!). This wine reminds me so much, smell and taste, of those orange-jelly thingies! It’s the very real (slightly bitter) peel and pith and oils together with the candied sweetness and flavour of orange jelly/Jell-O. The acidity is satin soft and satin shiny. It’s really approachable, and when they suggest fish and lemongrass on the tech sheet, I totally agree – sweet-fleshed white fish or prawns in a lemongrass broth or sauce. You could also pair it nicely with monkfish chunks marinaded in a tarragon-and-orange dressing and grilled over coals. (TC) / A straightforward, juicy and delicious grenache blanc with green pears, blanched almonds, white peaches and warm spices on the nose. Medium-bodied with a fresh and succulent mid-palate. Positive bitterness with more fresh green pear character and mild spices. Mouthwatering finish. From organically grown grapes. Drink now.
