- The Mabileau family has been carrying on a winemaking tradition for over five generations in Saint-Nicolas-de-Bourgueil, where they have preserved and enriched a unique expertise. Today, Nathalie and Rémy Mabileau oversee a diversified vineyard rooted not only in Saint-Nicolas-de-Bourgueil, but also in the prestigious appellations of Bourgueil, Anjou, and Saumur. Some of the oldest vines on the estate, planted in 1947, still bear witness to the passionate work of Frédéric's grandfather.
True to a vision of respect for nature, we have chosen to manage our entire production using organic farming practices for nearly twenty years. This approach was rewarded in 2018 with the Biodyvin certification, ensuring our commitment to biodynamics. Our vineyards are primarily composed of Cabernet Franc and Chenin, two emblematic grape varieties of the region, which finely express the typicity of our terroirs.
With a spirit of innovation and a dedication to preserving viticultural heritage, we are also committed to reviving historic grape varieties of the Loire, such as Pineau d'Aunis and Grolleau Noir. Always driven by the desire to explore new horizons, we now enthusiastically venture into cultivating rarer grape varieties like Trousseau and Savagnin, thus bringing a touch of diversity and originality to our vineyard.
