Information
- Description
- We are Gabin and Félix Richoux, two brothers who joined the family's twenty-hectare estate in 2012. Then in 2016, following our studies at the Viti de Beaune, we became managers of the estate. Alongside our parents, Corine and Thierry, we have followed in their footsteps, who, after forty years of hard work, have always endeavoured to respect both the original, distinctive terroir of Irancy and the spirit of each vintage, which must be conveyed as faithfully as possible right through to the bottle.
To achieve this, here are a few key principles that are essential both in the vineyard and in the cellar:
Harvesting by hand, in 40kg crates
100% destemmed and sorted grapes
Vatting between 15 and 20 days
Aged for a minimum of 2 years before bottling
Very rigorous care taken with debudding, tying up and, on certain parcels, leaf removal.
2013 ECOCERT organic farming certification, with the start of the use of biodynamic preparations in 2011.
Our aim is not to increase the surface area, but to concentrate on the quality of our wines.
The most important thing is to keep our soils alive. Because balanced soils produce balanced grapes.
Above all, we look for ripeness in the grapes, because fruit is only good when it's ripe. By keeping the sugar/acidity balance and the elegance of the grape.
At least we're passionate about vines and wine all year round! According to our brief research, this close relationship dates back to the 17th century, to Chitry on our father's side and to Irancy on our mother's side.
Respect for the special terroir of Irancy and the unique character of each vintage drives us and guides us in our work and long-term decisions.
Being a winegrower in Irancy is a unique situation that must be cherished, defended and appreciated.
Finally, a certain ‘philosophy’ of the winegrower's trade, considering that by giving the best of ourselves, nature is and will always be the strongest, fortunately!
We look forward to welcoming you to discover our wines in our charming village of Irancy.
The cellar is open Monday to Saturday, 9am to 12pm and 2pm to 6pm
