Information
- Description
- The Pouderoux estate covers approximately 20 ha over an area of 35km on two valleys in 7 islands of 2 to 5 Ha, from 150 to 300m altitude.
Agronomists by training, we design our wines first in the vineyard.
We work on the scale of our production islands with a global logic: adaptation of grape varieties and management methods (pruning, choice of intervention dates, biodynamic preparations and phytotherapy), planting of hedges and ecological corridors/dry hedges, and diversification in order to adapt our production to the Mediterranean climatic challenges.
The grapes are harvested 100% manually, vinified and aged in separate plots and grape varieties. We work with vines spread over diverse terroirs (schist, marl, chalk, sand and pebble) to express strong identities marked in our single-varietal and plot vintages, and to balance our blended vintages and our vintages of natural sweet wines through the management of the maturity and expressions of the grapes.
The work in the cellar, reasoned to be as pure as possible (minimum of inputs, sulphites, spontaneous fermentations or vat feet) while maintaining stability of the wines from one vintage to another, completes this logic. We thus seek to offer wines balanced between power and tension, marked by the minerality and freshness of our terroirs of stone and altitude.
We defend the ancestral know-how of Maury natural sweet wines with nearly 40% of our volumes. We design these wines first and foremost as table wines, which can be paired with a multitude of occasions.
The remaining 60% are vinified in dry white and red wines IGP Côtes catalanes, AOP Côtes du Roussillon Villages and AOP Maury sec. We pay attention to creating original vintages, each reflecting their terroir and playing with possible food and wine pairings.
Our wines are now present on several starred tables and in around fifteen countries in Europe and around the world.
