Information
- Description
- At the very heart of the Côte de Beaune, the Savigny-lès-Beaune vineyard has long enjoyed a well-earned reputation.
The Pinot Noir, in this clay-lime soil, delivers red wines with distinct finesse, and the pockets of marl lend themselves admirably to the white varietals.
In the 18th century, the Cîteaux monks founded a priory in the center of the village of Savigny lès Beaune where Henry and Hélène Maurice established the Domaine du Prieuré on four hectares after the war.
Under Jean Michel and Yvonne Maurice’s leadership, the Domaine now comprises 12.5 hectares, and modern buildings and infrastructure were installed at the village’s entrance.
Stephen, who has been with the winery since the early 2000s, has carried on the family tradition by settling down with his wife Lucie in 2015.
The Domaine is now certified organic after several years of reflection and tests leading to the modernization of our tools and viticultural practices and using the least possible inputs.
Stephen and Lucie now take on the adventure with wine and the vine—a passion shared by three generations.
