Information
- Description
- Le Jas Des Papes straddles some of the finest sites of Chateauneuf-du-Pape while standing out as a modern, terroir-led gem in the region.
Joining the Audibert family in 2014, the domaine was rapidly converted to organic viticulture.
The vineyard consists of plots of diverse soils, sand and ‘galets’. Deep-rooted old vines of Cinsault, Grenache, Syrah and Clairette reflect the identity of their terroir and produce wines with intense character.
Winemaker J-P is a true artisan and brings modern freshness to the inherent generosity of Le Jas’ wines. His approach has garnered recognition from leading critics worldwide.
Our grapes are harvested by hand, then meticulously sorted before being vinified separately.
Our Grenache, Cinsault and Mourvèdre are fermented and aged in conical barrels to retain the freshness and crispness of the fruit, while we vinify our Syrah more traditionally in French oak barrels to add roundness to the tannins.
Our white wine, made from Clairette and Grenache Blancs, is aged in oak demi-muids.
