Information

Description
The Reya family believes that wine is formed in the
vineyard. The winemaker must only allow it to express
itself fully in its best version in further care.
At Reya, they have lived in close contact with
the land of Brda for centuries - written sources
mention the family here as early as 1735 when
the Austro-Hungarian emperor granted them
a noble title. The last three generations of
masters are primarily dedicated to wine.
Grandfather, Edvard Reya, produced 8,000
litres of wine in 1930, which is a respectable
amount for those times. Following him, the
estate and love of viticulture were taken over
by his son Emeran. With his wife Boža, the
latter gave the farm a new impetus, built a
new wine cellar, and introduced modern
technologies
After Emeran’s sudden death in 2006, the
farm was taken over by his son Edvard Reya,
who, with the help of the family’s valuable
experience, continues and enriches their
tradition of the domestic wine cellar.
He successfully sums up the philosophy of
his ancestors and his belief in sustainable
ways of viticulture and winemaking.
In 2016 he decided to convert the farm to
organic production, and so in 2019, the
first bottles carrying organic certificate
see the light of day.
At Reya, they have been devoting themselves,
especially to Rebula, Tocai Friulano
and Malvasia in recent years.
These are one of their oldest vineyards,
reaching a respectable age of 70 years and
