- Nicolas Haeni, the passionate vinegrower at Malmont in Séguret sees himself as the link between nature and taster. His vineyard is his garden. His wines are his creations.
The terraced Malmont vineyard is of striking beauty. Malmont, the official name of the location has very naturally become the name of Nicolas Haeni’s young winery. With Malmont, Nicolas is living his dream of working on a small vineyard and being as close as possible to his land and to be able to express the uniqueness of this terroir. Malmont is an island of vines surrounded by forests. nature is protected here and taken care of. Nicolas follows the principles of organic and bio-dynamic farming with a special focus on a balanced nutrition of the soil.
Know-how
Nicolas' guideline is the search for balance, be it in his wines or his approach to nature and viticulture. His winemaking aims at translating in the most accurate way the great fruit we harvest in the terroir of Malmont. Hence winemaking interventions are reduced to a strict minimum. Wild yeasts ferment the grapes and very little sulfites are added. No other additives than sulfites enter our winemaking process.
